Here's a fun fact to usher you in to your holiday weekend: Ohio currently holds the Guinness World Record for largest pumpkin pie ever made.

The record-placing dessert was made in 2010 by a team of giant pumpkin growers in New Bremen, OH (about an hour north of Dayton), who constructed a 3,699 pound, 20-foot diameter pie.

The crew used 440 sheets of dough, as well as a boatload of canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice, and baked it in a custom pie pan before divvying it up into approximately 5,000 slices for hungry community members.

If you're curious, or, you know, feel like re-creating the pie yourself, you can find the complete ingredient list here

The previous Guinness World Record pie weighed 2,020 and was 12-feet in diameter.
