Rick Semersky’s ambitious plan to breathe new life into his beloved St. Clair neighborhood, Hub 55, has a new culinary guide. Chef Jeff Jarrett has accepted the position as Executive Chef and GM of the entire portfolio of properties. He leaves his position as executive chef of AMP 150, where he has worked for three and a half years, after Valentine’s Day.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and a logical next step in my career,” says Jarrett. “Rick offered me the opportunity to do so much more than just running another restaurant. His passion is addictive and I’m excited about being a part of that.”
As Executive Chef and GM, Jarrett will oversee all culinary aspects of Semersky’s multi-faceted Hub 55 project. Those entities include the health-focused Café 55, run by Courtney Bonning of Bonbon Pastry & Café, which is slated to open in spring. That will be followed by Goldhorn Brewery, a 10,000-square-foot brewery and taproom led by brewer Joel Warger, a 14-year vet of Great Lakes Brewing Co. Also on tap is The Market, an evolving weekly incubator market with local foods and crafts. And later this year, a “signature restaurant” will take up residence in the grand former St. Clair Cleveland Public Library and Lakeshore Banking and Trust building. Jarrett also will take the reins at Sterle’s.
