The Cleveland kidnapping victims marked their two year anniversary of freedom earlier this month, and just this week two of the women added another major accomplishment to their belts.

Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus received honorary diplomas on Wednesday from John Marshall High School, the school Berry attended and DeJesus was planning to attend when both women were abducted by Ariel Castro more than a decade ago.

"It was awesome," Berry told Cleveland.com after the graduation ceremony this week. "I always wanted to grow up and be somebody and do something with my life, you know? I always planned to graduate, and my mom always wanted that for me, to see me cross the stage. So this means everything to me."

The two women released their book "Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland" last month, and already it's become a New York Times bestseller.
