Uptown Beat, MOCA's free concert series, returns on July 30 and continues every Thursday through August 27.

The outdoor event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in Toby's Plaza, and is presented by MOCA and Case Western Reserve University and is curated by the Beachland Ballroom.

In addition to the concerts, there's also discounted admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art (right next door to the venue) and special deals at Uptown restaurants and stores each night.

Expect to hear all kinds of punk, funk and rock this year from some of the best local Cleveland artists. Here's the schedule:

Aug. 6: Cities and Coasts (indie rock/alternative), Midnight Passenger (experimental rock/pop)

Aug. 20: The Admirables (funk/soul)

Aug. 27: Archie and The Bunkers (hi-fi organ punk), Obnox (punk)
