Cavs Holding Open Auditions For National Anthem Singers Aug. 29

You, too, could sing the National Anthem before a regular season Cleveland Cavaliers game. The Cavs are holding open tryouts on August 29th (10 a.m. - 12  p.m.) at the Q to put together a pool of potential performers for next season. 

Nothing terribly fancy about the auditions: You or your group (no larger than a quartet) will get 90 seconds to perform the Star-Spangled Banner. You will be videotaped. You will provide a headshot. 

And that's about it. 

If you sing in the church choir, used to do musicals at your high school, or have long harbored secret ambitions to be the next American Idol, here's your chance. 

No age restrictions either, so folks like Marlana VanHoose, the blind 16-year-old who electrified crowds before the NBA Finals, are more than welcome. (The Cavs simply ask that minors be accompanied by a parent or guardian). 

No pre-registration is required. Just enter at the Q's main arcade entrance between 10-12 on Saturday, Aug. 29, and then give 'em hell. Here's the only inspiration you'll need:
