Chilly mornings and shorter days have announced the arrival of fall in Cleveland, but for us the season doesn't officially start until Great Lakes Brewing Company hosts its annual Christmas Ale first pour.

Luckily, the festive occasion isn't all that far away. The Ohio City brewery has announced the date and details of the 2015 event:

Ale-leluia! It’s almost time for Christmas Ale! Join us in celebrating the most wonderful time for a beer at our brewpub's annual First Pour Party, Wednesday, October 21. Our First Pour party is free and open to the public. We will open promptly at 11AM, and Brewer Santa will deliver and tap the first keg of Christmas Ale at 11:30AM.

Additional highlights include a new winter seasonal, cinnamon sugar barley pretzels, and tunes by DJ Misfit Troy (4-9 p.m.).

You can go ahead and let the boss know you'll be absent that day.
