A local author/Internet entrepreneur, Zachary Fenell made his publishing debut in 2011 when he released Off Balanced, a memoir about growing up with a mild case of cerebral palsy.

Off Balanced focuses on my adolescent years and how I learned to go from being embarrassed about being different to embracing my differences as a part of who I am,” he explains in an email exchange.

After publishing that book, he knew he wanted to write another book. He had been writing rock-related features for the now-defunct Yahoo! Voices. In the wake of the Web site’s shut down, publishing rights for his articles reverted to him, so he decided to compile them into a book. Rock Realities collects together 13 articles he wrote based off phone interviews with different musicians. The book includes interviews with indie rockers such as Team Sleep’s Todd Wilkinson, Leftstronger’s Jesse Magee and Andrew W.K. It contains a total of 13 articles. Four are re-published Yahoo! Voices articles with minimal updates. Three are completely revamped Yahoo! Voices articles for which Fenell conducted follow-up interviews with the artists. Six are completely brand new articles based off interviews Fenell did directly for Rock Realities.

“I envision two main audiences who would be interested in the read, music fans who can’t get enough about music and aspiring musicians," he says. "I kept these audiences in mind as I proceeded with Rock Realities.  It was important to me to provide that fresh material to ensure the book is worth the money the reader is spending.”

The e-book is currently available on the Kindle and Nook. Find more information here
