The event will feature performances by Diana Krall, Al Jarreau, Dr. John and Leon Russell. It takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Connor Palace at Playhouse Square.

“Tommy LiPuma has produced some of the finest music ever recorded,” says JazzFest director Terri Pontremoli in a press release. “Honoring his birthday with this unique gathering of stars is the perfect way to get this year’s JazzFest underway.”

The other nine ticketed concerts will take place at Playhouse Square. One free performance featuring local talent will take place on an outdoor stage on U.S. Bank. The full festival lineup of ticketed shows will be announced at a special event on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Nighttown in Cleveland Heights.
