Cleveland City Councilman Brian Cummins' Wife and Daughter Were at Brussels Airport During Attack

[image-1]City Councilman Brian Cummins' wife and daughter were traveling to Budapest for a spring break trip this week and arrived at the Brussels International Airport for a connecting flight 30 minutes before the terrorist attacks that killed at least 30 people Tuesday.

They are both safe. Cummins wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday evening that after they arrived, they were taxied to an airplane hangar and remained there, "on lockdown," for most of the day.

They "were never in danger," Cummins wrote.

Cummins posted this morning that his wife Gayle and daughter Tatum had arrived in Amsterdam for a re-scheduled flight to Budapest.

"It's such a small world," Cummins told Scene yesterday. He was negotiating with United Airlines and trying to figure out European bus/train routes, but was — obviously, overwhelmingly — grateful for his family's safety and prayerful for the victims of the attacks.
