This coming Monday (3/28), proposals are due from companies that wish to fabricate, install and remove the welcome signage for the 2016 RNC.
In its Request for Proposal
(RFP) issued earlier this month, the 2016 Host Committee said it planned on providing artwork to the selected vendor for "street pole banners, building banners and storefronts enhancements," all of which are part of the host committee's citywide beautification efforts before the July convention.
It should be no surprise that the storefront enhancements — mesh wraps, vinyl graphics, "other solutions" — will be used to cover up some of the uglier storefronts downtown. The current suggested locations are exclusively on Euclid Avenue and Prospect Avenue.
Potential building banner locations have been proposed on Euclid Avenue, E. 9th Street, Public Square, and St. Clair. Street pole banners are proposed on portions of Euclid Avenue, Chester Avenue and East Boulevard.
