Last fall, Akron brothers Ben and Zach Gage, who play in the folk duo the Gage Brothers, recruited banjo player/singer songwriter Chris Volpe and Honeybucket mandolin player Brendan O'Malley to join them to “enhance the arrangements of their high energy indie folk songs.” The new lineup has performed all around the region, but the group’s upcoming show at Music Box Supper Club
on June 2 will be its first major headlining show in Cleveland.
“With this new lineup, we feel like we're helping to bridge the gap between the two cities. Our music encompasses the working class spirit of this great region,” says singer/percussionist Ben Gage in a press release. “We cant wait to show Cleveland what we've been cooking up!”
The band will performing songs off of its latest album, Take It Back
, as well as new songs it plans to release later this year.
“We are so excited to be tracking with Jim Stewart who has just been voted as having Cleveland's best recording studio by Cleveland Scene
,” says Gage.
Band of Lovers, a “well-traveled Americana trio” from New York, will open the show.
