The Cleveland APL is dropping animal adoption costs after reaching critical level this past week.
The kennel is currently full after receiving 33 cats and 23 dogs in the last six days from the APL's humane investigators team. That means the facility can't take in any more animals (outside of humane investigator cases) unless more are adopted. Adoption costs have been dropped to $40 for adult dogs (age 1 or older), adult cats for $5 and a second adult cat for $20. (Usually it's $95 for an adult dog and $45 for an adult cat.) No healthy dogs or cats are going to get put down, but there are pups and kitties out there that need a home and the APL has space that needs to be cleared for new intakes.
All animals adopted from the APL have been spayed or neutered, tested for heartworm or FeLV/FIV, have received vaccinations and treatment for worms and fleas. You get a free initial veterinary exam, a collar, personalized ID tag, and are eligible for 30-45 days of free ShelterCare pet health insurance. Cats and kittens come with a travel box, and dogs and puppies go home with a leash.
