Singer-Guitarist Butch Walker to Play House of Blues in September

Acclaimed singer-guitarist and producer extraordinaire Butch Walker, a guy that Rolling Stone has called “one of America’s best singer-songwriters,” will release his eighth studio album, Stay Gold, on Aug. 26.

On last year’s terrific Afraid of Ghosts, Walker wrote passionately about the passing of his father. This record, on the other hand, promises to be “a celebration.”

“After coming out of the AOG album cycle and tour where, at the risk of sounding ridiculous, I spent a lot of time on stage bawling my eyes out, I felt a very calm sense of peace,” says Walker in a press release. “Like I’d done what I needed to do to get it outta my system. Every song that came after that was almost a nostalgic, celebratory...for lack of a better word — 'jam.' And the songs just kept coming to me, which was good because that’s not always the case!”

To support the album, Walker will tour with openers the Wind and the Wave and Suzanne Santo. The tour kicks off on Aug. 17 in Orlando. It comes to Cleveland on Sept. 7 when Walker and Co. play House of Blues. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15.
