Bainbridge Township Police are politely asking/warning people not to trespass into the abandoned, “Walking Dead”-like Geauga Lake amusement park. Their public request comes after a spike in illegal tourism this year, which is not entirely surprising given Geauga Lake's mystique and nostalgic hold on Northeast Ohio and/or, more likely, it's reputation as a ruin porn destination.

So far in 2016, 46 people have been cited with trespassing at the former Cedar Fair park, Bainbridge Township Sgt. Frank Chickos told WEWS. (If 46 were caught, you can only imagine what the real number of trespassers is.) A trespassing citation is a fourth-degree misdemeanor that carries a maximum charge of 30 days in jail or a $250 fine.

If there's one big draw, it's one that was also a big draw back when the park was operation: the Big Dipper.

"Basically it’s a big piece of rotting wood," Sgt. Frank Chickos told the station. ‘My fear is that somebody is going to fall through a piece of broken wood and get injured.’”
