[image-1]After Tuesday night, chef Steve Schimoler's portfolio of restaurants has been reduced by one. Crop Kitchen, the spin-off of the popular Ohio City eatery Crop Bistro that opened at Uptown a year and half ago, has closed.

Although Schimoler confirmed the news he did not elaborate on the reasons behind it. That spot, tucked behind another, more visible, row of restaurants, has been notoriously challenging. Accent, Scott Kim's Pan-Asian restaurant, closed in that same location after one year in business.

In addition to his Ohio City hot spot, Schimoler also operates Crop Sticks, Crop Rocks and On-Air in the Flats East Bank.

We'll update this page as details roll in.
