In coordination with frequent partners CLE Bazaar and Platform Beers, Lake Affect Studios will be wrapping up a summer of events on Aug. 13 with an open gallery, local vendors and the final installment in the summer concert series.

Lake Affect Studios, located at Payne and East 25th in the Campus District, has been working with Cleveland Bazaar and Platform Beers separately to put on events for months, but this will be the first time the three have worked together to put on a single event at the studio.

They promise a dynamic event fitting for the end of this hot, raucous summer.
From noon to 7 p.m. in the upstairs event space, vendors with CLE Bazaar will feature handmade crafts and art from your favorite locals for sale. On the ground floor, Lake Affect’s resident artists’ studios will be open to the public and outside artists’ work will feature as well. From 8 p.m. to midnight, the Platform Beers Concert Series, featuring rapper Archie Green and bands Paper Morning and Oldboy, will return from a month-long hiatus to take the wheel for the rest of the evening.

The latest development for the studio itself: the courtyard and outdoor bar will be open for the first time.

Owners and Cleveland natives Dan LaGuardia and his wife bought the warehouse, which had been vacant for five years, and converted it into a studio three years ago. Photographers looking for studio space themselves, Lake Affect Studios became a way for them to continue their work and surround themselves with like-minded folks. They began renting space to local artists—photographers, painters, and even a grill-making metallurgist—back in November on two-year leases.

To Cleveland, Lake Affect Studios brings what would cost gallerists and artists in New York City or San Francisco millions.

“I’m pretty sure you can live like a king for about $35,000 a year,” LaGuardia says.

Visit for more information on this event, future events (like Choktoberfest and Halloween this fall), studio rental, and to plan your own event at the studio. Visit the growing studio itself in the coming months for additional amenities and services like the VIP room and new galleries and shows.

Tickets are $8 preordered or $10 at the door. Platform Concert Series from 8-12 is 21+/
