Each year, the Cleveland West Art League organizes a member’s show outside of its gallery at 78th Street Studios. Originally conceived of by local artist and gallerist Loren Naji and held at his Ohio City Studio Gallery, Tall Walls is an eclectic, salon-style exhibition featuring work by the organization’s many member artists. An unjuried annual group exhibition, Tall Walls is open to all members of CWAL, and dozens of local artists participate each year.

This year’s show includes work by more than 30 member artists. For the first time, Canopy Collective hosts CWAL’s annual Tall Walls exhibition.

“Cleveland West Art League is proud to be able to work with Canopy Collective,” says Jeannie Oakar, Vice President of CWAL’s board. “It is such an eclectic venue. Erika has welcomed us with open arms. It is a great place to host an event or just stop by to browse the diverse works. It has an array of vintage goods alongside of local artists. After my first visit, I knew that it would be the perfect venue to showcase CWAL artists.”

The show includes both artists who have shown at Canopy previously, as well as many local artists exhibiting at the venue for the very first time.

“Canopy is honored and excited to host this year's installation of Tall Walls,” says Erika Durham, owner of Canopy Collective. “Cleveland West Art League does an incredible job of creating community within Cleveland's expansive art scene, and we are thrilled to welcome all of the artist members as they show their work in our gallery. We anticipate Tall Walls to be a show unlike any we've had so far, including a few artists who have shown work at Canopy, and many whose work will grace our walls for the first time.”

One night only, Tall Walls takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 4. An after party will take place from 10 p.m. to midnight at Platform Beer Co. (4125 Lorain Ave.), located across the street from Canopy.

“The mission of Cleveland West Art League is to foster an inclusive artist community in Greater Cleveland by providing exhibition and collaborative opportunities, resources and education,” says Oakar. “Tall Walls is a showcase of Cleveland West Art League's member artists. We hope to have at least 40 of our members show works. It is an annual event where both patrons and member artists get to catch up, network and discuss see each other’s latest creations. We love having members’ shows in our 78th Street Studio Gallery but when we get to do off site events, it puts us out into the community and allows us to collaborate within the community. It has become a fun tradition for all involved. We are so thankful to Erika and Platform brewery for supporting our event."
