Last Monday, a couple wandered into b.a. Sweetie Candy Company Inc. in need of candy. But rather than select their sweets and head to a cash register to pay, the man and woman opted to sneak the treats into a purse.

Once store employees grew wise to the scheme, a police report stated, they confronted the two and, after a bit of a scuffle, managed to take back the nearly-stolen candy and detain them.

The would-be-thieves however, had no plans to stick around and wait for the police to arrive. The woman sprayed workers with pepper spray, making for a quick getaway.

The pair was last seen driving off in a gold Nissan Maxima. Contact Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463 with any information.
