Lorain native Jaclyn Bradley Palmer has advanced past her blind audition on the Dutch version of The Voice.

Palmer sang  Natasha Bedingfield’s “These Words,” ending the song with a high note she says was supported by her opera training.

Coach Sanne (in Holland known as Miss Montreal) claimed Palmer for her team. Palmer will now advance to face an opponent in a singing battle on a future episode.

"When I stepped out on that beautiful stage and the lights and music hit me, all I had to do was sing my heart out… and that was something no language barrier could change,” says Palmer in a press release about her successful blind audition.
Original Post: Earlier today, Lorain native Jaclyn Bradley Palmer announced that she will compete on this year’s program.

The episode that airs on Friday, Nov. 17, will feature Palmer’s blind audition. She's the only American featured this season. The show will air in Holland on RTL4 and clips will also be available for viewing immediately afterward on YouTube.

Palmer, who has sung since childhood, took vocal lessons as a child and attended Interlochen Arts Camp where she received a scholarship to attend Indiana University’s School of Music, concentrating on classical opera. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance, she lived in both New York and Los Angeles where she began writing her own music. MTV, VH-1, HGTV, Bravo and TLC have featured her music.

Palmer has recorded three full-length studio albums — two in the States and one in Holland. She also works as a music therapist (she studied at Colorado State University).

In 2005, she moved to the city of Utrecht with her husband Oliver, an engineer, and their 3-year-old daughter Roma.

“It is the opportunity of a lifetime,” she says of appearing on The Voice of Holland. “To be sharing my voice with the world is a distinct honor, and I am so very grateful.”
