The Tony-nominated stage version of Disney's Frozen is coming to Cleveland in 2020. The exact date has yet to be revealed, but Playhouse Square announced yesterday that the show is set to hit in the summer months.
Compared with the popular animated film, this musical version, which made its Broadway debut earlier this year, has an additional 12 songs. While the show is clearly aimed at Disney's main audience, kids and families, it managed to nab three Tony nominations for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score, and will be up against Tina Fey's Mean Girls come June 10 at the award ceremony.
As with this year's Hamilton, the best way to guarantee scoring Frozen tickets, according to Playhouse Square, is to buy season tickets, found at playhousesquare.org/broadway.
While we don't know yet what the 2019-2020 fully has in store, the 2018-2019 Broadway series has already been announced:
Oct. 2-21 Hello, Dolly!
Oct. 28-Nov. 18 Les Miserables
Jan. 29-Feb. 17 Miss Saigon
March 5-24 School of Rock
April 23-May 12 A Bronx Tale
June 11-30 Dear Evan Hansen
July 9-28 Come From Away
In the meantime, barring a trip to New York City, you'll have to settle for watching the film version of Frozen over and over again with your toddler.
