The days of going to Target with the intention of buying a box of light bulbs and instead coming home with a month's worth of groceries and a new wardrobe, all while entirely forgetting the light bulbs, are coming to an end.
As of this week, Cleveland fans of Target can now enjoy the fastest Target run yet, thanks to its new "Drive Up" service that allows guests to place orders on the Target app, and then have their items brought right out to their car by a store team member.
It's like Applebee's "Carside-To-Go" but better.
Once an order is ready, Target will notify customers — usually within one hour. All you have to do is click the “I’m on the Way” button when you’re ready to head to the store, park in a designated Drive Up spot, and within two minutes a team member will have the order at your car, ready to be loaded into the trunk or backseat.
The new move seems to be a way to stay competitive with Amazon
, since its multitude of shipping options
are putting a stranglehold on businesses everywhere.
Drive-Up available items will be indicated on the Target app, and customers are required to pay for their order before pick-up.
