Singer-songwriter Dave Clark
knows Northeast Ohio well. He used to perform with the local rock outfits Baby Blue, Dreamer, Dia Pason and Rough House. He returns to town to perform at 6:30 on Wednesday, July 3, at Sibling Revelry in support of his new album, Rock City
. The Geauga County-based duo 2Guys12Strings will also perform.
On Rock City
, the versatile Clark handles all vocal duties, most guitars, bass and keyboards. Wish You Were Here bassist Eric “Eroc” Sosinski appears on four tracks, and guest drummers such as Co-op’s Mark Savale and Jimmy Clark (Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Demolition 23) play on the album as well.
“I recorded a ballad back in 1992 that was intended to be the first single off my upcoming album,” says Clark in a press release about the album. “Then, life got in the way and the album never got going. Better late than never, I got Eroc and Jimmy [Clark] together we were able to knock out some tracks rather quickly. I finished the album in my current hometown of Phoenix doing most of the tracking myself. Interestingly, that original track, 'If You Only Knew,’ appears on the album, with the original music from 1992 and vocals and keyboards recently added to bring the past into the present.”
In addition to playing music, Clark is an avid craft beer drinker (he’s one of just two Master-level beer judges in the state of Arizona), so that's why he chose to have his release party at a local brewery.
“Pairing my love of music and craft beer, it made perfect sense to have my homecoming show at a local brewery,” he says. “People who support local beer are often the same people who also support independent musicians, so there’s a natural synergy.”
