In what's being called a "fan appreciation" event, Cleveland State University is trying to entice fans to its first home basketball game of the season Saturday with a slate of ludicrous deals.

Tickets are free, first of all, if you reserve them online. Popcorn is also free. (Though we encourage taking public transit, parking is free too, in the South Garage adjacent to the Wolstein Center.)

Refreshments will be dirt cheap. In addition to the gratis popcorn, hot dogs will be only a buck and draft beer will be two. For the die-hard fans and the kiddos, an autograph session with the whole team will happen right after the game, which tips off at 3:30 p.m.

The Vikes will take on the Fighting Scots from Edinboro College in what should be a more competitive match-up than their first outing, a loss to Minnesota by 35 points. CSU, once a force in the Horizon League, is coming off two abysmal seasons under head coach Dennis Felton. They are now coached by another Dennis, Dennis Gates, most recently an assistant at Florida State.
